Know Where to Go

I would have to say that being a smart player is one of the most valuable things in the World of Warcraft. This holds a significant amount of truth for someone like me who plays multiple classes and hopes to do so at an above-competent level.

What gear am I looking for [insert class]?

Is there a general spec I should be talenting into?

What do all these buttons mean?!

Isn’t there an easier way to make gold for my epic flying than grinding mobs?

What is WoW changing and when?

Knowing the answer to these questions and others might be what sets you apart from ‘just another player’ in the MMO world. I mean, we aren’t all hunters and can’t face roll our way to 15k DPS, amirite!? (I kid, I kid…). So, if you are not familiar with where to go to get some of this information, then please, allow me to help.

MMO-Champion
I go here daily for patch notes, changes, blue posts, and basically anything else WoW related that might make me more aware of what is in store for this game that I spend so much time with.

Elitist Jerks
Possibly more than the average player is looking for if you spend a lot of time here, but, it could be just the thing to point someone new to a class, raiding, or particular spec in the right direction. Probably my number one site for talents, glyphs, rotations, enchants, etc.

WoW Head
This is my current favorite site to go to for information on game items (crafted and dropped), creatures, NPCs, and quest tips or spoilers. Huge database.

WoW Armory
Keep track of your character outside of the game; keep up with your guild achievements and progress; find upgrades to your current gear; or just keep tabs on another guild.

The Undermine Journal
If you are at all interested in what stuff sells for on your server because you want to make a killing in the auction house, or just don’t want to be ripped off, then this is the place you need to be. You can even set up email notifications for those elusive items you rarely ever see!

Bah, the problem...

Focus... i need focus. i can't decide what i want to focus on and it seems like i can't decide what to cover, so i end up throwing my hands up in the air and posting nothing, opting for playing instead.

i am thinking that i would like to follow the latest events and goings on in the World of Warcraft and just offer my feedback to the best of my abilities. i think the best way to do this is give myself a starting date and go from there. so, with that said, my tentative starting date will be whenever 4.1 drops. when this happens, i will cover the patch notes and then go from there.

in the meantime, i have focused my frustration on leveling and gearing. some notables:
-Keojin has reached level 85, and though my intentions were to finally play feral druid, i just can't do it. it also doesn't help that the guild could use a back up raid healer.
-Shammah has become my main, of sorts. he is who gets brought to the raid, and has so much more versatility than my shaman, sadly. he also is starting to become quite a force in Arena PvP, another area that my beloved elemental shaman was irrelevant.
-Joanoforc. totally enjoying Arms warrior. if there were more hours in a day, then she would be level 85 and tearing things up. soon enough.

the biggest thing is that i don't have unlimited amounts of playtime, and i am using a lot of it to make gold at the moment to be ready to drop money on whatever i will be forced to buy to get the legendary staff that will be coming out. fortunately, and what i think makes me a good player, is that i do my research, so my actual game time is fruitful and not spent jumping in a circle in Orgrimmar. maybe that'll be the lesson of the day...

see you for patch 4.1, if not before.

Jumping in With Both Feet

little time to create my banner and all types of fancy little designs here and there leave me below my desired aesthetics, but too much is happening in the blogosphere and in WoW for me to miss throwing some arbitrary opinions out there!

i have been following all types of blogs on WoW for some time now; gold blogs, class blogs, update blogs, podcast blogs. all have their beneficial info for different reasons, and some i like to just go to because i know i will get to read something new regularly. sometimes you come across something you just need to share or maybe want to participate in a blog carnival (more on this later). with that said, i know i have a very low following having just started this blog up, but to those of you reading, make sure you check out the companion pet give-away over at Ele-Mental Gold. always nice to win things for free, right?

Ele-Mentalgold's Win A Pet Contest

i digress. in the next few posts, i am hoping to get some comments up on my characters, Cataclysm, and most importantly, the new patch 4.1 notes.

The Set Up

i guess the goal is that i want people to enjoy looking at the page, along with reading the content...

i need to do a little house cleaning before i really get into posting with a purpose (or PWAP - ha!). i am hoping to set up a place that serves as a decent information hub along with something that would allow you to see what i am doing with my different characters; get an idea for how i am playing them; and how my perspective on things has come about based on where i go for my information and news.

with that said, i will hopefully have a link to all my toons, some links to sites i frequent, and maybe a couple other tools that i think better express the opinions and helpfulness i will eventually hope to convey. thanks for checking in again, and feel free to comment or leave any suggestions (though i know it's still early in the process.)

Warcraft Blogging

A World of Warcraft Blog; what a concept!

i want to try to carve out a small niche in the World of Warcraft blogosphere for a little more analysis of changes and general sentiment about the game. it may be done already (possibly too much?), but i enjoy it. this won't be class specific or topic specific as i enjoy too many aspects of the game. i have likes/dislikes about every class, and have good experience with all of them, so hopefully that will bring some perspective to my posts, and if nothing else, a little balance.

if you stick around, i promise nothing else besides not capitalizing many things that need it...
thanks in advance.
